The Alistair Hulett Memorial Trust took part in the Marxism For Our Time event held at Oran Mor, Glasgow, on Sunday 16th October. The Trust ran a stall selling CDs and promoting the Trust and its work. The event was an evening of speeches, films and songs to launch Ian Birchall’s new book Tony Cliff : a Marxist For His Time, and to highlight the growing resistance to the bosses, bankers, and the Tories. Songs were provided by Trustee Jimmy Ross and Finlay Allison, who performed their very powerful Bread and Roses : Songs of the Great Unrest, a recreation of a tumultuous period of working class history in songs, words and pictures.
