The Australian branch of the Alistair Hulett Memorial Fund is honoured to have received a number of copies of the rare CD ‘West Along The Road’ by the late, great Scottish singer/songwriter and talented musician, Jimmy Gregory, a long-time collaborator and fellow member of The Hooligans with Alistair Hulett.
Jimmy’s untimely passing in 2001, at the age of only 38, cut short a prodigious musical career that had seen him perform with some of the finest folk musicians in Australia after moving here from Glasgow. These included, among many others, The Fagans, Eilish O’Connor, Peter Woodley, John Deery and Lindsay Martin.
His solo CD, ‘West Along The Road’ features a number of self-penned songs and instrumentals together with songs and music by some of the many musicians with whom Jimmy Gregory performed and travelled.
Jimmy’s partner, Susan Farrell, has donated these highly collectable CDs so that all proceeds of their sale go to the Alistair Hulett Memorial Fund. We greatly appreciate and applaud her generosity.
